For many organisations particularly associations and not for profits, volunteers are vital cogs that keep the machinery of business going at full strength. Without them, normal operations may grind to a halt.
Despite the important role performed by many volunteer workers across Australia, many companies have little or no cover in place in the event that a volunteer is injured while helping out. Because volunteers do not receive a wage and are therefore not eligible for workers compensation, it makes sense to offer protection against unfortunate accidents.
Voluntary Workers Insurance is designed to protect volunteer workers against financial loss caused by their injury. It offers peace of mind that comes with knowing they will be protected should disaster strike.
What does the policy cover?
Cover applies whilst the volunteer is engaged in unpaid voluntary work on your behalf. It is important to note that such work must be officially organised by you and under your control. Cover also extends to necessary direct travel to, from or during such voluntary work.
A voluntary workers policy can protect volunteers for the following incidents and costs:
Accidental Death and Capital Benefits
Benefits payable in the event that the insured person suffers accidental death or injury as a result of an accident
Weekly Injury Benefits
Weekly benefits payable in the event an insured person suffers temporary total disablement or temporary partial disablement, as a result of an injury

Non Medicare Medical Expenses
Benefits payable, where permissible by law, for non Medicare medical expenses such as physiotherapy, chiropractic etc.
Personal Vehicle Excess Waiver
